Paul has been practising law in Darwin for more than 30 years. After some years in partnership, he established our firm in January 2000. Paul has considerable experience in Supreme Court litigation including stamp duty appeals, professional negligence claims, family provision claims, insurance disputes, shareholder disputes, insolvency proceedings, construction claims and a variety of other claims under contract, tort or statute. In the commercial sphere Paul advises local government, has developed a specialisation in asset protection and complex estate planning, drafts a variety of sale, lease and service contracts, prepares shareholder and unitholder agreements and advises on business structures and restructuring and associated taxation and stamp duty matters.
Bernadette had a successful career as a banker with one of the major banks before turning to the law. She obtained her qualifications at Charles Darwin University and was admitted to practice in 2015. She has rapidly developed a practice in superior court work including in professional negligence claims, construction and other contractual disputes, insolvency matters, as well as estate disputes.
Cathy was first admitted to practice as an attorney in the Philippines in 2010, after having obtained her qualifications at the University of Santo Tomas and at Arellano University School of Law. After moving to Darwin and undertaking further study at Charles Darwin University, she was admitted to practice in 2016. Cathy practises in a variety of commercial matters including pastoral property purchases and sales, business purchases and sales, commercial leasing, advice to local government and business clients on their rights and obligations under existing contracts.
Eric was admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory in 2020. In the years leading up to his admission he worked with our firm as a law clerk, gaining useful experience in both commercial and litigation matters, and especially in estate planning and probate. Prior to commencing legal studies, Eric gained useful and practical commercial experience working for several years as a commercial property manager for a large Darwin based property group.
